Seocho-dong is a legal-dong located in the middle of the east of Seocho-gu, which belongs to the Seoul/Gangnam area, and is the center of Seocho-gu. When it was separated from Gangnam-gu in 1988, it was named Seocho-gu after Seocho-dong. After the Gangnam development policy, before Seocho-dong became the center of Gangnam and became an urban area, it was called Seoripul, and it is a Hyangchak-style village named after the letter 瑞 from the note of "Seori" in Seoripul and the letter 草 from the "Hun of Grass." It is the center of culture, arts and judiciary in Korea and the core of power. As mentioned above, legal institutions such as the Supreme Court, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, the Seoul Central District Court, and the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office are concentrated, and lawyers' offices are the most concentrated in the country, so it is sometimes called Seocho-dong news or Seocho-dong news when delivering legal news. President Yoon Suk Yeol has lived in Acrobista in Seocho-dong, and became the first building in Korean history where a sitting president has lived for more than a week and commuted to and from his private residence.
