4K Canon G50 and the Swimming Pool
This 4K 30fps video was taken with a Canon VIXIA HF G50 and Canon DM-100 microphone. The intention was to explore the video and audio capabilities of this Canon equipment. The camcorder was set to record in Manual mode, with Av set to F4.0 and the Neutral Density (ND) filter set to 1/4. The microphone was connected via the Canon Mini Advanced Shoe and set to record stereo sound in a 90 degree arc (towards the front of the camera). Since the camcorder was mounted on a very sturdy Manfrotto tripod the Image Stabilization (IS) was set to OFF. I did not attempt to adjust the microphone's settings. This is the out of the box functionality, and you can hear the continuous low rumble of the pool pump (located on the far side of our rear yard) as well as cars driving on the street in front of our home. The DM-100 microphone was covered with the furry "dead mouse" cover (which comes with the microphone), and there was a good breeze during the filming.
