LTTE agent arrested in Chennai The Q Branch Police in Chennai have arrested an LTTE agent. The Police said the accused is Ameer Anthony Paranthamam of Jaffna.. He had planned to transfer communication devices and chemicals to Sri Lanka via Rameshwaram. He and his wife had settled in Chennai and were operating a travel agency. According to The Hindu newspaper, Ameer was nabbed at the Tambaram bus terminal and a satellite phone was seized from his possession. He revealed that he had received two consignments with eight GPS devices, three satellite phones, two cell phone repeaters and 500 kilograms of Ammonium Nitrate from two LTTE agents in Switzerland. He had been awaiting the green light from LTTE members Kannan and Prakash in Sri Lanka to transport the goods.
