Why Do Fortnite Players Angle Their Keyboard?
When you watch Fortnite streamers you can sometimes see the position of their keyboard. And some players have their keyboard at an angle up to 90 degrees. Why do they do this? As far as I can tell, there are two main reasons. 1. More space between your mouse and keyboard Many Fortnite pros have played at LAN tournaments. And at LAN tournaments there is often limited space. So players started to angle their keyboard to create enough space because otherwise, they could hit their keyboard with their mouse. This is especially useful if you use a low sensitivity because you need to move your mouse a further distance, and this requires more space. 2. Angling your keyboard changes your thumb position When you use a standard horizontal keyboard position, your thumb is only able to comfortably hit your spacebar to jump. But you have so many other keybinds to assign in Fortnite. So you need all the extra fingers (or in this case thumbs) that you can get. You see, angling your keyboard changes the position of your thumb. And the more you angle your keyboard the more keys your thumb is able to press. But there are some risks involved when you use a keyboard angle because you can put your wrist in an awkward position.
