RARE 1955 Zenith Royal 800 Radio
The second transistor radio ever produced by Zenith, the Royal 800 was a radio that was way ahead of it's time. Powered by 8 "C" size batteries, the 7 transistors put out an undistorted 500 milliwatts of sound from its oversized 4" front speaker and had a pop-up handle that also served as an antenna. Handwired, handbuilt, expensive to make, expensive to buy, big sound, and crazy-good performance. But in the mid-50's, they did not sell well and was discontinued after a limited run. A rare find for today's collector.
