ENA BAGA - "JEALOUSY" (JACOB GADE) - BLACKPOOL TOWER BALLROOM WURLITZER - 1942 *****
A delightful, sophisticated and refined wartime Regal Zonophone recording by ENA BAGA playing the famous Blackpool TOWER BALLROOM 3/13 +P WURLITZER ORGAN of Jacob Gade's famous tango "JEALOUSY". ENA BAGA was resident at the Tower Wurlitzer 1940-1945. Ena told me she regarded her time at the Tower as her "War Work!" My Mum and Dad, Tony and Nora Kirner, danced to Ena Baga at the Wurlitzer, during leave from the RAF and Army respectively. I was lucky enough to receive private tuition from Ena in the early 1960's at the Chiswick Hammond Organ Studios, Chiswick High Road, Chiswick, West London. Ena played for us at Compton Lodge in the delightful village of Sapcote in Leicestershire, and she gave an exceptionally fine concert on our wonderful 4/20 theatre organ.
