Bach . The five-part choral texture of the Et incarnatus is modeled on Bach’s Magnificat in D. The chorus "Et incarnatus est" depicts an intense awe and emotion of Mary that is later deepened into despair in the "Crucifixus" . The B-minor Mass, BWV 232, was Bach's final word on sacred choral music, the culmination of music written by Bach over some forty years. The Mass would be Bach’s final large-scale project, completed in the fall of 1749.
