The Heber Hall Song: Reviving its Melodic Legacy

This is a very special composition and rendition of the Heber Hall Song. The Heber Hall Song as you probably know was created by Dr. Chandran DS Devanesen, the first Indian Principal of MCC and some residents of Heber at the time. We are truly privileged to have amongst us Mr Vernon Seneviratne, who was part of that august team. Upon our request, he recorded a video of the Hall Song to the original tune. This labour of love has been created to record for posterity (we hope) our affection and loyalty to our College and Hall. I'd like to acknowledge Wesley Roy for his creative efforts in editing the video and adding visuals. And helping me in pulling the whole thing together are Sunish Simon (BA Econ 1983-86), Nikhil John (B.Com 2014-2017) and George Elias (BA Econ 2020-23). While I will admit to having played a lead role in driving this, I would like to also add: Nikhil and I were L&D Secretaries, Vernon and Sunish were Entertainment Secretaries and George was the Library and Reading Room Secretary. Do I really need to add that we are all Heberians?! And a big THANKS to Vernon! We hope you enjoy this piece, as much as we enjoyed putting it together! Warm regards Sameer Nagarajan B Com 1983-86
