Snorkeling Misool - Beyond Pintu Kapal
One of the best but not very famous snorkeling spot in Misool. We discovered it by accident - the boatman, as usual, wanted to return to homestay as soon as possible, but a full day snorkeling trip was not enough for us and we asked to stop for some more. The boatman without thinking twice just drops us practically in front of the homestay. So that's how we discovered this most beautiful spot very close to our location. After that, we often returned here. Pintu Kapal is translated as "the gate for the ship" - here in the ridge of cliffs there is a deep enough for ships pathway so ferry from Sorong passes here. Constantly changing strong currents bring a lot of plankton - that's why there are a huge number of fish and a lot of various corals and polyps that filter food from the water.
