can't use nas apple time capsule on network for Windows 11. missing windows feature smb1

Every time I try to connect to my apple time capsule on windows 10 or 11... it fails to connect through apple airport tool. I get an error popup. I googled and realized that windows 11 has disabled the protocol smb1
