Rubank Elementary Method for Trombone or Baritone - Wearing of the Green - Page 48
Duets Page 48 Wearing of the Green Lively Top Split Part – The top part needs to immediately set the style and tempo of the piece. It should be lively and dance-like. Keep the articulation light so the tempo doesn’t drag. Take control of starting the piece and directing through the fermata four measures from the end. Bottom Split Part – Match the top part in style and articulation. Support the top part as much as possible and blend well. Ideally, it should sound as if only one person is playing. Duet – This piece is nearly entirely in rhythmic unison. Try to match each other stylistically as well as in sound quality. Matching articulation and style is going to be very important and will help make this piece sound clean at the fast tempo. Bring out the changes in dynamics. Always try to breathe together on the phrases. Recorded 5-27-2016
