The Clara Barton Sessions - Millennium Stage (February 28, 2016)
The Clara Barton Sessions were recorded by a group of D.C.-based musicians in one night on March 14-15, 2015 in Clara Barton’s Missing Soldier’s Office located at 7th and E Streets, Northwest. Each musician chose a song from the Civil War era that could have echoed in these rooms. Each musician also composed a new song addressing the personal stories of soldiers and civilians alike. This is not a reenactment or a period piece, but rather a demonstration of the living tradition of music that transcends through time, as authentic now as it was 150 years ago.
