2021 Raise the Region
Raise the Region is the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia's annual celebration of local philanthropy. The 2021 event was held virtually on Friday, October 8th and was hosted by Leon Harris, NBC4 News Anchor. It highlighted how the Community Foundation builds a community that works for everyone through stories of its Build Back - Dream Forward investments and the impact of two of its newer funds, the Ross-Roberts Fund for the Arts and the Environment Fund. In addition, the Community Foundation presented the 2021 Community Leadership Award to Karen G. Schaufeld, a philanthropist, entrepreneur, lawyer and author. The event serves as a mission-critical fundraiser for the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, and includes engagement challenges to participate in an online auction that will close on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 8:00 pm.
