It was the great german art exhibition. This degenerate art event is worth to remember as it puts a thought and reflection of what is to be considered art, also art as a way of propaganda, as a tool to achieve certain goal, political goals, art as a way of invading minds, art as a way to destroy family, values and culture, despotic authorities imposing art, censoring art... Now what happens if we use these reflections and thinking in today's art state of affairs? In the exhibition there were paintings by Picasso and van Gogh, two painters which I find very inspiring and interesting. Among others, the freemasonic sect and their forms of art were labeled as degenerate and forbidden by the national socialist government. In September 1933 the Reichskulturkammer (Reich Culture Chamber) was established, administered by Joseph Göbbels, Hitler's Reichsminister für Volksaufklärung und Propaganda (Reich Minister for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda). In '37 the degenerate art exhibition took place. ...Entartete Kunst exhibit, featuring over 650 paintings, sculptures, prints, and books from the collections of 32 German museums, premiered in Munich on July 19, 1937, and remained on view until November 30, before traveling to 11 other cities in Germany and Austria. Some slogans on the wall: "An insult to german womanhood. The ideal: cretin and whore"
