The Miracle of Chosen-ness
Worship Service March 7, 2021 1 Peter 2:4-10 Our scripture today comes from a letter written by Peter. The same Peter who, in last week’s scripture, was the first to proclaim aloud that Jesus is the Messiah. But he is also the same Peter who lost focus while walking on the water and began to sink. The same Peter who, at the transfiguration of Jesus, suggested they should stay on the mountain and build three temples for Jesus, Moses, and Elijah for people to come and worship. And the same Peter who denied knowing Jesus three times on the night of His arrest. ... Friends, Peter was a screw up, but he was chosen by God. Like Peter, we mess up, but as we dig into this scripture today, know that you too are chosen by God and receive the miracle of chosen-ness.
