Welcome you all to my channel 'Learning is fun with Prajnaparamita'. In this video lesson, I have discussed three confusing verbs lay, lie and lie. These three verbs have different meanings and are used in different context. I have mentioned all the differences and the cause of confusion embedded in their use. There are picture presentations also to cite the differences. First, I have discussed the meaning differences between two verbs lay vs lie. Lay means to put or place whereas lie means to become horizontal. The verb lie has dual meaning. Lie as an irregular verb means to be or become horizontal. The forms of this verb are to lie, lay, lying, lain. I have discussed the differences between lay (the past form of lie) with the verb lay (lay an egg). This irregular form of lie has no object while use in a sentence. I have given examples to show the difference between lay and lie with lots of examples. Lie as a regular verb means to tell falsehood. The forms of this verb as follows: lie, lied, lied and lying. Lay means to put or place. It is a regular verb. The forms of lay are lay, laid, laid and laying. This video lesson may help the learner to understand the differences and to use them in proper situation.
