Kath McCaughey's Breakdown
Kath McCaughey's mother would've played this tune for step dancing in northern NSW around the 1890's. Dave de Hugard collected the tune as a "Breakdown" from Kath, and I've adapted it to a 32 bar hornpipe. George Large was probably playing this tune for step dancing around Mudgee NSW at the same time. John Meredith recorded Orley Benson playing George's version on his squeezebox. Played in the key of G on a 1930's Hohner Erika melodeon.
