This webinar offered practical applications on how to incorporate technology into Common Core Close Reading of Text. The adoption of the Common Core Standards requires elementary through secondary teachers of ELA, Social Studies, Science, and Foreign Language to implement close readings into their curriculums. Close Reading is defined as the ability to, “read and comprehend complex literary and informational texts independently and proficiently.” Participants were presented with current technology tools to help facilitate the Common Core requirements for Close Reading of text. The presentation demonstrated how to creatively use Adobe Acrobat, Google Docs, Office, Poll Everywhere, Quizlet, Noodle Tools, QR codes, Diijo, word clouds, Padlet, Cacoo, Lucid Chart, and Glogster for close reading.
