Hollow Knight - How to Cheese Failed Champion
Written guide: Basically what you want to do here is stagger Failed Champion as fast as possible. His attacks are as follow: Leap: Failed Champion will leap towards you, this attack can cover the entire arena, dash towards him to dodge. Slam: Failed Champion will jump backwards and hit the ground with his hammer, sending a shockwave towards you, this is easily dodged by jumping over the shockwave, although be warned, as if pressed against a wall Failed Champion will not jump backwards before slamming the ground. Leaping Bludgeon: Failed Champion jumps towards you and hits the ground with his nail, to dodge dash underneath him. As you can’t get soul from Failed Champion unless you dream nail him, the first phase is dealt with simply by dealing enough damage to stagger him. Once Failed Champion is staggered, get behind him, and alternate between nail hits, and dream nails, until your soul meter is full. If you are using dream wielder you can get 2 dream nails in before you have to reset his timer, otherwise, you can only get one. This works because hitting Failed Champion’s armor while he is staggered will reset his stagger timer. Once your soul meter is filled, hit his face a few times, and then back off to the edge of the arena. As Failed Champion jumps to the center, use all your soul to hit him with shade souls. If done correctly he will be staggered again before he can even attack you. Repeat twice more, and you have successfully cheesed Failed Champion!
