Bob Bennett - The Star Spangled Banner (7/4/19)
A solo acoustic rendition of the National Anthem. Spoken intro precedes the song. To get right to the music, simply advance to 1:40. I named-checked my dear friend Kevin Ryan: http://www.ryanguitars.com. I also referred to previous Anthem versions by Mac McAnally: https://youtu.be/Dcr0INYYAzc and James Taylor: https://youtu.be/gNveVwCPR9E. Obviously the spoken intro and music were spliced together with zero editing skills on my part. Still, I hope you like it ... and thanks for stopping by. (And Jameson ... go get 'em!) [PS added on 7/15/19: After posting this, I did a little more digging about solo acoustic versions of The Anthem. Probably the first and grandaddy of them all is Jose Feliciano's take in 1968 before a World Series game at Tiger Stadium. At the time, it was very controversial and the public utterly misinterpreted Feliciano's intentions in crafting the arrangement that he performed that day. Thankfully, history has vindicated him. There are several good articles online that recount the interesting details of the story. The video is here: https://youtu.be/aQkY2UFBUb4.]
