Ram 1500 3.21 vs 3.92 gear ratio. By the numbers

With all the back and forth debate on the subject, of 3.21 vs 3.92, I figured I would take a different approach to addressing this age old delima. Towing frequently or want bigger wheels and tires... 3.92 for sure. Outside of those criteria however, are 3.21s the better overall choice? Does the 3.92 offer better overall performance?
