Ali Akbar Khan FAREWELL
Indian classical instruments are often difficult to use in a different context. Many have tried to do this, but the results were often not so good. One wonderful light album made by an Indian classical musician is "Journey" (1990), by Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Ali Akbar Khan is one of the greatest sarodists ever existed on earth. Son of Ustad Allauddin Khan Sahib, he sadly died a few years ago. Listen to this beautiful song. The video that accompanies it is taken from some of my day and night journeys around Bombay, on my Bajaj Chetak scooter.
