Risograph printer running a master and printing
This is a Risogrpah M790 that is for sale. It scans whatever you put under the lid and makes a stencil in about a minute then you can crank out thousands of copies for little more than the cost of the paper. You buy the ink by the liter, around $20 for black ink I think last time I bought some. It is fast, very fast. The speed in the video is set low. You can control the density of the ink, how fast it cranks them out, stack a ream of paper in the in tray and turn on the baby monitor in case it skips a sheet and shuts down, then go do other things while listening to it work. Parts are easy to find online and reasonable and there are huge online communities with experts and regular folks that can walk you through basic repairs if ever needed. It has a driver that you can access using a laptop but last time Windows 10 updated I lost the driver. There are printer/copier sales outfits that are dealers for the newer Riso machines and they can also come out and repair or trouble shoot. I had paid a local company to come out and install the driver so I could use the laptop and a digital copy for the master instead of having to print 11 x 17 sheets for making a small newspaper we used to terrorize politicians with. I think they charged $160 to make the shop call and install the driver so if you want to tie it to a laptop you can, just use a dedicated laptop and don't let windows update it.
