Thunderstorm in a Test Tube!
A very fun and simple reaction. There is a layer of 91% isopropyl alcohol that has a layer of sulfuric acid underneath that has been injected with a pipet. When a very small amount of potassium permanganate is added, it falls down, reacts with the sulfuric acid to produce manganese heptoxide, a very powerful oxidizer, which makes small amounts of the alcohol combust. WARNING: THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND MUST BE PERFORMED OUTSIDE OR IN A FUME HOOD IN FULL SAFTEY EQUIPMENT WITH VERY EXTINGUISHING PROTOCOL READY FOR ACTION IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT.
