The Ethiopian aliyah, more than 30 years later
The aliyah of Ethiopian Jews to Israel brought a new culture, and history, to the Jewish state. Many of the new immigrants felt the deep imprint of trauma and war. Others who came as young children were quickly integrated into the larger society. More than 30 years later, a series of photos follows up with the emotional stories of those families. November 30th commemorates the expulsion of Jewish communities from the Middle East and North Africa. Throughout the month, we are telling their stories.
