BUGS to sell iPads in Israel
Electronics and computer retailer BUG will be selling iPads in Israel, angering Apple reseller iDigital, BUG has begun presales of the WiFi version of Apple's tablet. The 16 GB model will sell for NIS 3,799 (about $1,008) and the 64 GB version will cost NIS 4,899 ($1,300). According to BUG's website, the product will be in stores next week, by August 11. The fact that BUG will be selling the iPad does not connote its official release in Israel. Apple reseller iDigital says that selling the iPad at BUG stores and through similar importers constitutes "an irresponsible consumerist move, and could mislead the public." iDigital suggested that whoever is interested in purchasing an iPad should "wait patiently for a few more weeks and purchase the product through Apple's official representative in Israel."
