Building an EPIC fantasy sword!!! This video serves as my design journal and a behind the scenes look at my final Honours degree design project. I am currently an honours student studying digital arts at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg South Africa. For our final design project we were able to do pretty much whatever we wanted and I chose to build an epic fantasy sword. I did this project in the fields of cosplay and prop making. This project makes use of 3d modelling, 3d printing, weathering, painting and various other prop making techniques. This video is not so much of a How To or a tutorial, but rather showcases some of the steps I took along the way and why I made certain design decisions.
