CReeves Makes A Wooden Name Sign with a Router (Freehand) ep024

Hey Everyone! My parents just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and I wanted to make a sign in honor of them. I chose some nice cedar boards. I then sanded and edge glued them all together. I then picked out a font for the sign and made a chalk transfer to the wood. I am still new to making signs and I learned a lot with this one. I would change how I masked the area for paint. After I finished the project, a friend mentioned a method to spray some lacquer onto the sign BEFORE painting the dark areas. This eliminates the bleeding and allows you to sand off the over spray easier. I really enjoy freehand routing as this is a personal hand made piece and shouldn't be PERFECT.
