OpenWRT - Testing the Xiaomi CR6608 WiFi Throughput (AC/AX Mode)
In the previous video, I have installed OpenWRT on the Xiaomi Router CR6608. When making this video, the Xiaomi CR6608 and the WAN PPPoE interface is up and running for 12 days with no problem. However, we can see that the WiFi throughput on this router is not stable when the wireless interface was configured in AX mode. In this video, let's test out the WiFi throughput in different configuration: AX, AC mode and channel width 20/40/80/160MHz. Video timeframe: 00:00 - Intro 00:34 - CR6608 & Network Interfaces Uptime Overview (12 days) 02:07 - WiFi Throughput - AX Mode - Channel 36 - Width 80MHz 06:06 - WiFi Throughput - AX Mode - Channel 11 - Width 20MHz 07:17 - WiFi Throughput - AC Mode - Channel 36 - Width 40MHz 09:42 - WiFi Throughput - AC Mode - Channel 36 - Width 20MHz 10:38 - WiFi Throughput - AC Mode - Channel 36 - Width 80MHz 12:25 - WiFi Throughput - AX Mode - Channel 36 - Width 160MHz (Not Working) 14:03 - CR6608 Stock Firmware WiFi Throughput (AX/ 5GHz /Channel 44) With the above testing result and the PPPoE / WAN to LAN throughput on the previous video, I think that this router is not worth buying. If need a budget WiFi6 router from Xiaomi, the Redmi AX6S is a good choice. If you are living in EU/US, the Belkin RT3200 is the best choice with good support from OpenWRT. (I purchased router sometime ago from Belkin US store and it is still on the way to Asia). That's all for this video. Thanks for watching and see you in the next video!
