Creality Ender 3 V2 - Wham Bam PEX Build plate
Glass build plates are becoming a thing of the past. In this video I take one of my Ender 3 V2s and swap the glass plate for a Wham Bam PEX build plate to see if it performs up to the hype... and the price. Glass build plates are reliable and flat, but they are also heavy and they don't offer any direct way to adhere different types of filaments to them. Switching to PEI is an option, but PEI isn't high-temperature and I was looking for something which would work for many different types of filaments. In came the Wham Bam PEX, it is suppose to allow a good bond with ABS, PETG, PLA and ASA + More. These aren't exactly a stock item, not even for one of the most popular printers, being the Ender 3, but I ordered 2 and waited for them to arrive. They were well packaged and they came with pretty good instructions. Most people probably would opt for a probe, it would address any warpage in the aluminum bed, but also which may occur during the heating cycle. I wanted to try to avoid it, so I took the time to flatten the plate the best I could with what I had. In this video, you'll see all of those steps, along with several tests.
