In Erich Von Daniken's Book - "Chariots Of The Gods" he explains that the Banana should not exist. The reasoning goes like this: The seed of the Banana is contained in the fruit and it is sterile. Banana plants multiply by shoots springing up from the base of the plant. Bananas are found growing all over the world and can be traced back to ancient times. Assuming that the banana evolved from a single plant, how did that plant spread all over the World ?
