How DayZ Official & Community Server Selection Works & Explained: Loot, Bases & Location (PS4 Xbox)
DayZ isn't exactly user friendly when it comes to explain how you actually join a game and choose which type of server, Official or Community, to select. Just remember that Official DayZ servers have the Vanilla version of the game - and you do take your loot & gear with you between servers, but your location will be changed. Any bases you've built or stashes you've buries will however stay on the server where you built them. With Community Servers, your character, loot and bases are tied to the server - you can't take anything with you when you leave. Thanks, Rob.
