After reading the reviews I decided to go a size up to the King size, there is enough fabric to pull the spread over the pillows, rather than using shams. I don't know about you, but I love the look of the spread over the pillows (as in the old days) without shams. I have an 18th century mahogany four poster bed with a gorgeous head board....and now it shows really well without the shams. I washed (very gently) the spread, and dried it twice on low, cleaning the lint filter each time...then dried on normal/medium one time, and again cleaned the filter. There is no lint on the spread, and no lose threads either. I watched it going through the low spin cycle, then moved the spin cycle to medium, just for 3 minutes. It is gorgeous! I am so glad I got it. I also got the chenille spread in blue and the green in King size, as well, with no shams either. I really like the old look. I have to return the shams, although they are lovely also, and inexpensive! Just a hint, with the ivory spreads (being light weight) you can use any color underneath them, and a bit of color will show through giving you a whole new look. So for now, I used white sheets, and the ivory looks wonderful - have fun with them. What a find at such a reasonable cost!!
