Non T-Flare 020 - Pokemon Battle: Meta vs. JMTL
I haven't really talked much about Baton Pass, even in my very first YouTube video, so I think I'll go ahead and provide my insight. I'm also going to make this an homage to my first video and leave it playing at normal speed and not overlaying it with other music. Sorry for the inconvenience. I've never been a member of a competitive relay race, but I do know that the runners have to pass a baton around while they run. I'm guessing it's used as symbolism for teamwork, since one runner is probably going to get tired if they had to run at that pace for the whole race instead of splitting the distance with others. It's too bad they can't pass along any speed boosts. In Pokemon battles, Baton Pass provides an animation of a baton being thrown into the air and a glove catching it. How does this even work if the receiving Pokemon is still in the Pokeball? How do changes to the mind, like confusion or mind reader get baton passed? Think of how smart everyone would be if we could baton pass all our knowledge instead of having to study. As it stands, Baton Pass is best used for stat passing. Speaking of stats, I currently have 151 T-Flare battles and 20 Non T-Flare battles. I also have bookended my videos at the point of writing with Baton Pass battles.
