KITIN MUÑOZ-THOR HEYERDAHL- DR. JOHN LORET -EXPLORERS

Inspired by Thor Heyerdahl, Muñoz made three attempts to cross the Pacific Ocean, two of which failed,[1] and one failed attempt to cross the Atlantic Ocean to prove that ancient seafarers sailing in reed boats could have crossed the oceans before the European expeditions of the 15th century. Kitín Muñoz is also a former member of the elite unit of the Spanish Army the COE´s (now Mando de Operaciones Especiales), a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, and an honorary consul of Morocco. On 26 October 2002 he married Princess Kalina of Bulgaria, daughter of Simeon II of Bulgaria. The Royal wedding was the subject of a television documentary. Their son, Simeon Hassan Muñoz, was born on 14 March 2007 in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2015, Muñoz, Kalina, and their son were living near Rabat, in Morocco. John Loret (November 28, 1928 - August 13, 2011) was an American marine biologist and explorer.[1] Loret was born in Albany, New York in 1928. He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1946 to 1949.[1] He studied at the University of New York and was admitted to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Connecticut in 1974.[1] Loret was the President of The Explorers Club from 1993 to 1996 Thor Heyerdahl ( October 6, 1914 – April 18, 2002) was a Norwegian adventurer and ethnographer with a background in zoology, botany, and geography. He became notable for his Kon-Tiki expedition in 1947, in which he sailed 8,000 km (5,000 mi) across the Pacific Ocean in a hand-built raft from South America to the Tuamotu Islands. The expedition was designed to demonstrate that ancient people could have made long sea voyages, creating contacts between separate cultures. This was linked to a diffusionist model of cultural development. Heyerdahl subsequently made other voyages designed to demonstrate the possibility of contact between widely separated ancient people, notably the Ra II expedition of 1970, when he sailed from the west coast of Africa to Barbados in a papyrus reed boat. He was appointed a government scholar in 1984.
