After being easily overpowered by the Alexandrian forces, the team retreat to the cathedral where they are saved from black mages by Iron Tail Fratley. After Fratley departs leaving Freya upset, Beatrix steals the jewel and attempts to flee being chased by the team. Zidane's remarks cause Beatrix to halt and turn to face the team resulting in a boss battle. This battle ends once a certain amount of time has elapsed or if Beatrix loses her 4,736HP.
