Vincent Bueno and "Musical! Die Show" Recap 8 weeks in 104 seconds

"Musical! Die Show" was a contest in 2007/2008 of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation ORF whose goal was to find the next Austrian star of musical theatre. According to ORF, the winner would have appeared in the Viennese production of the Queen musical We Will Rock You, but an agreement between the ORF and the promoters BB promotion and the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien did not materialize at short notice. Instead, the ORF announced that the winner would receive a cash prize of 50,000 euros. With this money, the winner should finance his individual further education. The candidates had no experience with a live broadcast and little or no experience performing in front of a large audience or singing with a live orchestra. They should progress their skills during the weeks of telecast. In the program, the candidates have to prove their musical skills by presenting excerpts of certain musicals per show. The songs are assigned to the participants by the ORF and can not be selected by the participants themselves. After the voting of the viewers by phone call and SMS, the two last-placed candidates once again had the chance to convince the viewers with a self-chosen joker song. Televoting, which was limited to 60 seconds, again determined who was allowed to move up to the next round. The quotas market share of 43 % (final decision) and 25 % in average of all viewers wasn't enough for the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation to produce a second season. The broadcast with live orchestra was considered as too expensive. The contest Musical! Die Show began an elimination round on November 23, 2007 with 10 contestants from the 400 beginners who auditioned. Austria and other European televiewers rated / televoted the finalists. "Hair" was Vincent's first number, and he performed the memorable songs "I Wanna Be Like You" from Jungle Book, "Superstar" from Jesus Christ Superstar, "Why God Why?" from Miss Saigon, "Singin' in the Rain", and the German "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!" from Mary Poppins. Musical! Die Show, a project of Austrian Broadcasting Corporation ORF, was not an ordinary singing competition like The Voice or American Idol. Completely different, it involves theatre arts and musical and acting abilities. Specifically, unlike Western and Asian talent show contests, Musical! Die Show is comparatively more difficult and challenging due to its theatre leanings. On January 11, 2008, Vincent Bueno became the winner of the ORF contest. He will represent Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands with the song, "Alive". https://youtu.be/dhNyR6u3vb0 https://youtu.be/ZcQXcG-rFXI https://youtu.be/ijT4yokqrYI https://youtu.be/tqd2fHN4tPY https://youtu.be/eg2J7CjgEdA https://youtu.be/gaoyLdq1YS8 https://youtu.be/ZI3etl0Ko6k https://youtu.be/GsQZFRNNdBI https://youtu.be/mkckyanMgig https://youtu.be/LRbVpwOc7YU https://youtu.be/aibLURvRi0Q https://youtu.be/GhdPIkRZsRU https://youtu.be/UTlEnA1hkOM
