Y axis problem on an Anet A8 3D printer

Y axis problem on an A8 3D printer. If there are any suggestions please comment below. The y axis stepper is working (swapped with the x axis one and works fine). There's continuity along the motor cable. But the y axis only moves in one direction. I think it's the board, but could be the firmware.
