Video #7: SPORE - "Befriending" an Epic Creature and then getting betrayed shortly afterwards

So while I was socializing with another nest of creatures, an Epic showed up right behind me but instead of attacking it just... stared. The creatures I was socializing with ran away in fear (obviously), so I waited for the "Siren Song" to finish recharging since I was curious to see if it would work on an Epic. (it doesn't.). After I had finished the "Siren Song", my creature became hungry and so I decided to get the nearest fruit (this, for whatever reason triggered the Epic to become hostile towards me and finish me off instantly with one hit.)
