First and foremost it had a beautiful COLOR trans-reflective (transflective, e-ink, e-paper) screen, like the Pebble Time Steel, and was also backlit when needed. It was built for fitness and overall health by monitoring steps (active pedometer), heart rate (either live on the watch or every increment of 15 min, 30 min, 1 hr or 2 hr for sync to the app), and sleepiness (yep, that's what they call it -- your light/deep sleep cycle with automatic determination of when you went to sleep and when you woke up). The SMA Q2 is the followup watch to the SMA-TIME. Unfortunately, it is not much of an upgrade. In fact, the only difference I could find between the two was the shape and size of the three buttons. They are now oval instead of round and have markings on them. The new Q2 still has limited tethering (you can read your text messages and hang up a phone call, but not answer a call or talk through the watch). You can also have it vibrate on selected app notices from your phone. As with the SMA-TIME there is no speaker on this watch, vibration only. It appears the Q2 is positioned to take over the sales for the SMA-TIME as the TIME is phased out of production. Since it was a solid performer for its limited capabilities, this line remains a strong contender for those wanting outdoor ease of readability on an always-on screen device. #smartwatch
