The then-modern look of the dual headlights was carried over from the W210, but received a refreshed, sportier character here. The W211 set new standards in safety, comfort and driving dynamics. At the beginning of production, they were powered by three gasoline engines with six or eight cylinders, as well as two diesel and common-rail injection versions.
