It seems to be a given that most major country artists did both an obligatory gospel album and a #Christmas album as well. #SonnyJames doesn't disappoint in either regard. He recorded gospel all throughout his career, and in #1966 he added a Christmas album to his list of recorded achievements. This was released on #CapitolRecords ST-2589, featuring a good mix of new songs mixed with the traditional tunes you'd expect; Sonny also had some familiar names collaborating with him such as Carole Smith, John Skye, and Bob Tupert. Speaking of #BobTupert, he shared writing duties with Sonny on this cute festive tune which leads off a great album!
