Asian-American and Pacific Islander Leaders on the Future of The Environmental Movement
Asian-American and Pacific Islanders have for too long faced environmental malpractice in their communities. However, the mainstream environmental movement, which remains overwhelmingly White, has historically not included the leadership and voices of AAPI’s in decisions that impact them the most. As we work together to create a more equitable environmental movement, we must remember that the experiences of staff of color must be centered in order to foster workplaces that allow all staff to thrive. Hosted by Green 2.0, join us for a discussion with Asian-American and Pacific Islander leaders in the environmental sector about their experiences, change they want to see from organizations and colleagues, and their perspectives on the future of the environmental movement. PANELISTS INCLUDE: Priyanka Hooghan, Staff Director, Subcommittee on Environment, House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology Tiffany Hsieh, Youth Digital Campaigns Manager, League of Conservation Voters Emi Okikawa, Digital Communications Coordinator, Sierra Club Esther Wozniak, Principal Associate, RFMO Policy, International Fisheries, The Pew Charitable Trusts Moderated by: Don Chen, President, Surdna Foundation Opening Remarks by Andres Jimenez, Executive Director, Green 2.0
