"Goliath," a 60 sec advertising TV spot directed by Oscar award-winner Wally Pfister, is part of a 360 campaign, "How Sweet the Sound," for Verizon Wireless' annual national gospel choir competition. The campaign won a 2009 Gold Effie Award. Executed in two phases, the first to solicit choirs for participation, the second to build audiences through ticket sales, the campaign was run in each of the eleven markets that held a competition. It culminated in national competition in which the winner from each eleven markets competed for the finale. The competition is held annually. The TV was accompanied by radio, print, and online elements.
