The enterprise started its work in 1899: it was then that OKZ produced the first cognacs. The history of the plant is inextricably linked with the Shustov dynasty. Successful industrialists and philanthropists did a lot for the formation and development of the cognac business in Ukraine. In 1900, Shustov cognac was presented at the World Exhibition in Paris. By the method of blind tasting, world experts recognized it as the best. However, the owner of the trademark refused the Grand Prix, instead demanding the right to call his drink cognac, just like the French producers. In the creation of cognacs, OKZ specialists have been relying on classic French traditions for more than a hundred years. The production process is almost identical to that used by the best cognac houses in France. The distillery of the Odesa Cognac Plant is the largest in Europe. During the alcohol smoking season, 16 stills distill up to 30 million liters of wine and produce up to 5,000 liters of absolute alcohol per day. The plant is equipped with classic French distillation units. OKZ aging shops store the largest stock of cognac spirits in Ukraine and even the CIS — more than 15,000 barrels. 15% of them are old and very old spirits under 50 years of age. Currently, the Odesa Cognac Plant produces ordinary cognacs under the well-known Shustov, ESTE brands, as well as vintage Chaika, Arkadia, and Yuvileyniy brands. The portfolio of OKZ also includes collector's products - these are cognacs "Odesa", "Zoloty Duke" based on cognac spirits aged from 11 to 20 years. All vintage and collectible cognacs are made from the company's own brandy spirits.
