OpenWRT - Enable SSH access from Internet & Dynamic DNS configuration

In this video, we will enable SSH access to the OpenWRT router from the Internet by open the SSH port on Firewall. We will also configure the Dynamic DNS to update the router's public IP address so that we can connect to it on the go. All of the configuration is done with LuCI web interface. The tutorial consists of 3 main steps: Configure Dropbear SSH service, open SSH port on Firewall and Dynamic DNS configuration. Video timeframe: 00:00 - Intro & requirements 00:50 - Set root password & Configure dropbear SSH service 01:56 - Open SSH port on Firewall with LuCI 03:24 - Check if the port is open 04:14 - Dynamic DNS configuration (using No-IP) 10:14 - Test & Verification Please note that it is a high risk by allowing SSH access from the public Internet to your router, even we use a strong root password and changed the SSH port. There are other tutorials available to secure your router, such as SSH key-authenticate, enable HTTPS and how to avoid Brute-force attack with fail2ban. Thanks for watching and I'll see you in the next video!
