FF7 Gjoerulv's Hardcore Mod - Ep.19: Lost Number

Watch as Hyper is applied and Number lands every attack anyway. -Strategy- [Lost Number] HP: 21,000 (all incarnations) As an optional boss, Lost Number's been given some serious upgrades which lets him hit for hefty damage in the early game. In his first form he hits for around 1000 damage but his second forms are even beefier, with the magic (red) form hucking out spells doing 2000 damage (unprotected) and the physical form nailing folk for around 4000 against back row characters (so that's about 8000 if you're sitting in the front row without protection). I decided that the magic (red) form was the way to go as I could negate his Bio 2 spells completely with Star Pendants while one character could use my newly leveled Elemental to block Quake2. I put Cait Sith in the middle as a healer-tank, with Cloud and Aeris either side (a four slots equipped to each) to hit the thing with spells until it changed. Then it's up to Deathblow, ???? (last minute decision), and limits to run the thing in. First off the bat, I hit him with Slow to make things a bit easier. And now that I've got a Mystify materia, I figured it was time to give Vash's suggestion a try and lob a Hyper at the thing, inflicting Fury and thus reducing his accuracy and giving me some more breathing space. Or so I'd planned, except the guy seemed to be pretty lucky with his attacks for a good part of the fight. First time I tried the fight though it worked like a charm and he missed most of his attacks (but I recorded it wrong). AvrilVentFleur reports that Lost Number is also weak to Stop which gives you a massive advantage, especially if paired with Haste. Choco/Mog equipped with Added Effect in the weapon can inflict this, or an Hourglass if you happen to find one. Seal Evil is also a good choice as it inflicts Stop with 100% success. Problem I'm finding now is MP. I've a good stock of Ethers now, but those won't last or be enough as the game wears on. ???? and Long Range-Deathblow might be the way to go. Anyways, up the goddamn mountain we go.
