Miron Cristea was the first Patriarch of the Romania Orthodox Church. Between 1938 and 1939 he also was the Prime Minister of Romania. As Prime Minister he promoted the cancelation of the Romanian citizenship held by the Romanian Jews. In 2010, the National Bank of Romania issued a commemorating coin honoring the memory of this vehement anti-Semite.
