CTA Red Line reroute on May 16, 2020
Southbound Red Line trains to 95th will be rerouted over the Loop Elevated instead of the State Street Subway this weekend May 16 & 17, 2020. I hopped on this train Saturday afternoon and recorded from Washington/Wabash on the loop to Cermak-Chinatown roughly following the former Lake-Dan Ryan route of years past. The lady you hear in the backgroud called CTA customer service to complain stating that she just didn't know of the service changes. There was no signage that she saw to alert customers of the service changes. Also on the way downtown I learned that northbound Red Line trains won't stop at the temporarily closed Roosevelt stop also due to the track work.
