Half Life 1 VR NaLo Part 2
Playing Half Life 1 VR with Natural Locomotion Part 2 INSTUCTIONS TO INSTALL BELOW Thanks to Max Vollmer for creating the mod and to rorin for modifying it. Original: https://github.com/maxvollmer/Half-Life-VR/ Modified [download this one]: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/736umu/halflife_vr_goldsrc/ Installation for HTC Vive in just 10 steps 1. Download original Half Life 1 from Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/70/HalfLife/ 2. Download the .zip file with the modified VR Mod: https://pixeldra.in/u/hx6Z03 Maybe Google Chrome marks it as dangerous, it's not. 4. Extract the zip file into your installed root directory of Half-life, usually "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life". BUT DON'T EXTRACT THE "SOURCE" FOLDER 5. After extracting it, right click opengl32.dll in the Half Life folder, go to properties and mark "read only" for it not to be deleted. 6. Open Steam, enter "Steam/Settings/In-game" and unmark "Use Desktop Game Theatre when launching desktop games while SteamVR is active". 6. Search for Half Life in your library, right click/properties, set launch options, and put the following text in: -game vr -dev -env -console -insecure -nomouse -nojoy +sv_lan 1 7. Start SteamVR. 8. Launch Half Life from Steam and ignore the "theater" message (accept). 9. Error with opengl32.dll? Move it form the .zip to the Half Life folder again and mark "read only". The thing is to prevent deletion. There are more complex ways to do it if it doesn'tt work for you. 10. Use mouse or SteamVR desktop overlay to start a new game. NOTE: Don't play multiplayer or you will probably be VAC Banned. Natural Locomotion (NaLo) is a software aimed to be able to move your VR character with the locomotion of the VR controllers. You also can jump in real life to activate it on the game. It's a highly configurable software with some presets for games. You can download NaLo here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/798810/Natural_Locomotion/ The problem I had here is that this mod is not a game fully ready for vr, so the controls of the are WASD binded to the trackpad, so it can't be properly configured.
